Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in New York to discuss Russian-Ukrainian relations, Russian news agency TASS has reported, citing a diplomatic source in New York.
"President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a brief meeting on Tuesday evening at a reception organized in honor of the heads of states participating in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly," the report reads.
According to the source, Zelensky and Lavrov discussed the situation around Russian-Ukrainian relations.
Zelensky is on a working visit to the United States on September 23-26 to participate in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.
The Ukrainian president is to address the UN General Assembly at 16:00 Kyiv time on September 25.
