Ukraine and Croatia coordinated the areas of cooperation ahead of the Croatian presidency of the European Union and agreed on high-level joint visits.
These issues were discussed during the Ukrainian-Croatian political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.
"We have agreed on the high-level visits, strengthening f practical cooperation in economic and energy spheres, further work of the group on exchanging experience of peaceful reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories,” reads the report.
The foreign ministry also reported that the Ukrainian side had expressed its gratitude to Croatia for its continued support in countering Russian aggression, in particular, the rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian soldiers and the organization of holidays for children. Also, the need for keeping EU sanctions against Russia was noted.
In addition, the Croatian side reaffirmed its support for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic and Euro-integration course. In this regard, it was agreed to hold relevant negotiations on the priorities of Croatia's EU presidency in 2020 and to prepare the next Eastern Partnership summit.
Following the talks, a Consultation Plan between the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia for 2020-2021 was signed.
The Ukrainian side was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar, and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Vice Skracic represented Croatia.
