Pelosi to meet with Democrats as clamor for Trump impeachment grows
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is set to hold a meeting Wednesday to discuss oversight and investigations, sources say. It comes as a growing number of Democrats say it's time to open an inquiry into possible impeachment of President Donald Trump. Pelosi and other leaders have been trying to tamp the clamor from Democrats who want to impeach the president, even as the Trump administration continues to block their investigative demands. A tipping point came Tuesday when former White House counsel Don McGahn defied a congressional subpoena and did not show up for a hearing where lawmakers had planned to press him on his interactions with Trump regarding special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election. The White House instructed McGahn to ignore the subpoena.

Court showdown set over subpoenas for Trump's financial records
President Donald Trump's lawyers are set for a Wednesday court hearing aimed at blocking two congressional committees from obtaining years of private financial records for him, his family and his companies. Trump, his three eldest children, The Trump Organization and other businesses argue that Deutsche Bank and Capital One Financial should not be required to turn over the information because subpoenas issued by the House panels "have no legitimate or lawful purpose." Trump has broken with decades of federal government tradition by refusing to make his tax returns public. As a result, the Democratically-controlled House committees subpoenaed records from the two major financial institutions. Trump's legal team, in turn, filed the lawsuit against Deutsche Bank and Capital One. A federal judge rejected a similar argument on Monday, ruling that Trump cannot block his longtime accounting firm, Mazars USA, from providing his financial records to the House Oversight and Reform Committee.

Is your sunscreen 'safe'? What to know about protecting yourself
Sunscreens on the market today may be providing inferior sun protection or contain potentially harmful chemicals, an environmental advocacy organization says. In a new 2019 review of more than 1,300 products with SPF in them, the Environmental Working Group found that about two-thirds did not meet its standard for protection or chemical safety. "It's quite concerning to us," said EWG official Nneka Leiba, whose group releases an annual guide on sunscreens. However, that doesn't mean consumers should stop using sunscreen, which provides essential protection against harmful ultraviolet radiation to help prevent skin cancer, EWG and dermatologists say. The EWG releases an annual list of sunscreens it says are safe after reviewing a variety of products available to consumers and they can use the group's report and lists to check products they commonly use.

Study: More people in big cities live within a 10-minute walk of a park
The Trust for Public Land's eighth annual ParkScore index released Wednesday reveals 72% of the people in the United States' 100 largest cities live within a 10-minute walk – or half a mile – from an urban park. This year, Washington, D.C., climbed to the top of the composite rankings thanks to renewed investment in playgrounds and park amenities. But while the nonprofit organization's latest index shows an uptick from last year’s 70% figure, that’s still far from the trust's goal of universal access a short walk away, regardless of income levels. In many cases, wealth still plays a factor in the quality of the nearby facilities. At a time when the country is grappling with an obesity crisis and much of the planet is feeling the adverse effects of climate change, park advocates are pushing to make easy access to outdoors activities a bigger priority.

Classic TV shows rebooted with today's stars for one night only
Archie Bunker and George Jefferson will look different, but they will be saying the same things that entertained (and outraged) audiences in the 1970s during an ABC special Wednesday night. Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and groundbreaking TV producer Norman Lear are reviving the two characters, with Woody Harrelson as Archie (previously played by Carroll O'Connor) and Jamie Foxx as George (Sherman Hemsley), in "Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear's 'All in the Family' and 'The Jeffersons'" (8 EDT/PDT). Kimmel and Lear will host the special, which will feature an episode of each series from the original script. The star-studded cast also includes Marisa Tomei, Wanda Sykes, Kerry Washington, Will Ferrell, Anthony Anderson, Ellie Kemper, Sean Hayes and Justina Machado. Kimmel, Lear and ABC won't say which episodes will be staged, but it is known that Kimmel and Lear planned no changes to the original scripts, which included bigoted and sexist language, making ABC censors nervous.
